حامد کرزی رئیسجمهور پیشین افغانستان در پی بازداشت شماری از زنان توسط طالبان در هرات بر ضرورت رعایت کرامت و جایگاه زنان در جامعه تأکید کرده و خواستار تأمین شرایط زندگی شرافتمندانه برای آنان شده است.
کرزی روز سهشنبه در پیامی که در صفحه ایکس خود منتشر کرد، نسبت به خشونتهای گزارششده در جریان اعتراضات هرات ابراز نگرانی نمود و گفت که افغانستان امروز بیش از هر زمان دیگر به فضای آرامش، همدلی و همزیستی نیاز دارد.
او تصریح کرد که عزت و احترام تمامی شهروندان افغانستان، بهویژه زنان باید بهصورت کامل رعایت شود و زمینه زندگی باوقار و آبرومندانه برای آنان در کشور فراهم گردد.
این اظهارات در حالی مطرح میشود که بازداشت زنان در هرات واکنشهای گستردهای را در پی داشته است ،روز سهشنبه گروهی از باشندگان این ولایت در اعتراض به این اقدام طالبان دست به تجمع زدند.
همزمان منابع محلی و شاهدان عینی از وقوع درگیری میان معترضان و نیروهای طالبان خبر دادهاند.
در همین حال فعالان حقوق زن و نهادهای مدافع حقوق بشر میگویند محدودیتها و برخوردهای طالبان با زنان در ماههای اخیر افزایش یافته و نگرانیها درباره وضعیت حقوق زنان در افغانستان را تشدید کرده است.
Karzai Calls on Taliban to Respect Women’s Dignity Following Herat Protests
Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai has emphasized the need to uphold the dignity and respect of women following the detention of several women by the Taliban in Herat, calling for conditions that ensure a dignified life for Afghan women.
In a statement posted on his X account on Tuesday, Karzai expressed concern over reports of violence during the protests in Herat, saying that Afghan society needs peace, solidarity, and mutual understanding now more than ever.
He stressed that the dignity and respect of all Afghans, especially women, must be fully protected and that conditions should be created for them to live honorable and respectable lives in the country.
Karzai’s remarks come amid growing reactions to the detention of women in Herat. On Tuesday, a number of residents of the province gathered in protest against the Taliban’s actions.
Local sources and eyewitnesses also reported clashes between protesters and Taliban forces.
Meanwhile, women’s rights activists and human rights organizations say that restrictions and measures imposed by the Taliban on women have intensified in recent months, further increasing concerns about the state of women’s rights in Afghanistan.
